Date Night

huh?.....what did you say?.......say what?........ These are words that made up alot of our conversation. Date nights just are not what they used to be!! But Bill and I had a great night anyways. It all started when Becca and I were driving down the road. She was on her cell phone and I was in my own little world when I heard the radio announcer say, "Be the 7th caller to win." I immediately grabbed my phone and dialed the number only to be told that I was the 5th caller. Becca was just hanging up so I told her to quick - call WTGN. She was the 7th caller and it was then that we learned that she had won 2 tickets to Legacy Five concert. Becca and Rachel had other plans for that evening, so Bill and I got the tickets. We left the house around 4 and stopped at Out Back for dinner. Then on to West Milton to the concert. We topped off the evening by stopping at Walmart. (I stayed in the truck while Bill went in for the few things we needed.) So...even though date nights are a little different than they used to be, I did notice that at one point during the concert that Bill had his arm around me (or was he just resting his arm on the back of my chair?) I choose to believe the first!! He also opened the truck door for me. I could not sit close to him because of the console in the middle and because he had the muffler taken off - so we rumbled down the road and it just felt that everyone was looking at us!! They would have thought it strange for 2 old gray headed people to be sitting close in this "young man's" loud truck. Oh well, we are still in love and it was alot of fun to be out with him.

We had great seats - about the 4th row back.

Too funny! I know what you mean! The "fairy tale" dates are long gone - but the love remains! We went to Texas Roadhouse with Allison last night (the other kids were with their friends for the evening) and we laughed about how it felt like a date even though we had an 11-month-old with us!

What are date nights? Ours tend to be going to Walmart alone without 5 kids in tow. There just isn't enough hours in the week for too many date nights anymore. Anniversary or Valentines tend to be the special times out for us. We have too many kids and lots of homework (the school kind) and housework (cleaning kind) to do . But we are still very much in love! Glad you had fun!
